- Attractive very light grayish beige vintage ticking fabric with off-white stripes. This “Coutil” or “Toile à Matelas” is a French fabric from the first half of the 1900s. This piece was part of a mattress cover, we have recovered it so we can continue using the fabric. It is a medium weight cotton fabric. The herringbone weave reinforces visual linearity.
