  • Width: 118 cm. (46")
Length: 1 Meter Piece (1.09 Yards)

    Condition: Pristine
Unused. Perfect condition. Minor wear consistent with age and history. May have only extremely superficial marks consistent with age and history. Pale fading or storage discoloration in the center folding line. This fabric is unwashed and has quite some sizing (starch). Selvages preserved intact. Please note: This fabric is special because it is lightweight, yet it has quite a lot of sizing (starch), which gives it a somewhat stiffer hand. Best typically for firm treatments, such as roman shades, or to upholster chairs, ottomans, or structured pillows, such as bolsters, bench cushions, etc. potentially with a backing. We recommend to only dry clean this fabric if you want it to keep its firm texture. It is possible, however, to wash this fabric, but the texture will transform into a fluid drape almost like a voile, then, mostly apt for very light fabrications, such as kitchen curtains and similar. Ask us for a sample to see in person! CARE: We recommend dry-clean only.

  • How To Shop
  • Beautiful vintage mattress fabric (ticking) with bright yellow stripes with other narrower stripes in various colors., It is a European fabric made around 1950 that mixes sateen weave with twill. In the past these resistant fabrics for mattress covers were called “cutís” (from the French “coutil”). This fabric is unused. Very rare! A treasure of the last factories in the Mediterranean. It is made of light weight cotton. Perfect density textile for tablecloths and quilts. The yellow hue gives a warm look to our projects. And the narrow red stripes add liveliness.

ROSARIO SAYS: "It fascinates me how with few elements they managed to make such interesting fabrics."
