- Wonderful vintage beige ticking mattress fabric with red stripes with thin white lines. It is a European herringbone fabric called cutí (from the French “coutil”) from the early 1900s. This piece, recovered and freshly washed, was part of a mattress cover. It is a light weight cotton fabric. Perfect textile for upholstery projects, cushions, bags, etc. It has a delicious combination of colors. Herringbone weave reinforces visual linearity.
