- Width: 146 cm. (57")
Length: 2.8 Meters Piece (3.06 Yards)
Condition: Pristine
Unused. Perfect condition. Original condition unaltered. May have only extremely superficial marks consistent with age and history. This fabric is unwashed and has quite some sizing (starch). Selvages preserved intact.
Please note: This fabric is special because it is lightweight, yet it has quite a lot of sizing (starch), which gives it a somewhat stiffer hand. Best typically for firm treatments, such as roman shades, or to upholster chairs, ottomans, or structured pillows, such as bolsters, bench cushions, etc. potentially with a backing.
We recommend to only dry clean this fabric if you want it to keep its firm texture. It is possible, however, to wash this fabric, but the texture will transform into a fluid drape almost like a voile, then, mostly apt for very light fabrications, such as kitchen curtains and similar.
Ask us for a sample to see in person!
CARE: We recommend dry-clean only.
- Beautiful vintage ticking fabric in elegant Prussian blue. It is a European fabric manufactured circa 1950. In the past these resistant fabrics for mattress covers were called "cutís" (from French "coutil") The fabric is sateen.
This fabric has never been used. Very rare! A treasure from one of the last factories in the Mediterranean. It is very light weight cotton.
