Superb vintage mattress fabric (ticking) in a muted forest green color. In this canvas the artist has used different Chinoiserie (or Japanisme) motifs: bridges with reflections in the water, chrysanthemums, oriental buildings and even a volcano that could represent Mount Fuji. It is a European damask fabric manufactured around 1950 to make mattress covers. This fabric is medium weight cotton, very moldable after many washes and wear. Textile very suitable for upholstery projects.
