Wonderful vintage beige ticking mattress fabric with beige stripes with thin red and white stripes. It is a European sateen fabric called cutí (from the French “coutil”) from the early 1900s. This piece, recovered and recently washed, was part of a mattress cover. It is a medium weight cotton fabric. Perfect textile for upholstery projects, cushions, bags, etc. The years give it a beautiful patina of old age.
