    Condition: Distressed
    Distressed. Some prominent signs of wear: may have significant losses, fading or structural issues. Several pale age marks dotted around. Some major area of stains, particularly towards one edge. Please see the photos. Somewhat uneven or slightly frayed edges. Without eyelets, but with stitching at the bottom and top from the original tape. It has many imperfections, but it is so beautiful that we have decided to preserve it that way. Maybe not for everyone. Special to reproduce age (very deteriorated). Extremely beautiful and rare!

  • Beautiful vintage beige (somewhat greenish) ticking fabric with red and white stripes. It is a European twill weave fabric called cutí (or in French “coutil”) from the early 1900s. This piece, recovered and freshly washed, was part of a mattress cover. It is a light to medium weight cotton fabric. The herringbone weave reinforces visual linearity.
