Wonderful vintage mattress ticking fabric with deep red and taupe stripes. It is a strong European fabric made around 1950 from satin weave (sateen). In the past these resistant fabrics for mattress covers were called "cutís" (from the French "coutil") It is made of light weight cotton. Dense textile perfect for upholstery and interior design projects. The herringbone has been used not only as a type of fabric but to reinforce the visual texture, it also makes it very consistent.
