Condition: Distressed
Distressed. Some prominent signs of wear: may have significant losses, fading or structural issues. Color unevenly faded with time. throughout the piece. Moderate scuffing towards the top edge. Some significant tears towards the top edge. Slightly worn eyelets. Both selvages preserved intact. Very nice hand-moldable texture. Specially soft fabric. Despite all these imperfections it is a unique fabric. A very large and well usable piece. Maybe not for everyone. Incredibly beautiful and rare!
- Very rare brick red and white vintage ticking fabric with an oriental motif. It is a European damask fabric from around 1950. This piece, recovered and freshly washed, was part of a mattress cover. This fabric is medium weight cotton. Perfect textile for upholstery projects, cushions, bags, etc. The designs recall the drawings and patterns of French fabrics such as the Toile de Jouy and the Indianas due to the arrangement of the pieces. In this canvas, the motifs are very original: Arab horsemen in battle, dancers, camel riders,… Arab architecture and palm trees frame the scenes.
