- Magnificent and contrasting set of antique mattress (ticking) fabrics in a bright cherry red and soft pink. It is a European damask fabric with a floral motif that was manufactured around 1950 to make mattress covers. This fabric is unused. Extraordinarily rare and scarce! A treasure from the last factories of the Mediterranean. It is medium to heavy weight cotton. Dense and strong textile. Open and budded roses are here and there on the fabric. It has a beautiful reverse, with a vivid contrast between the colored and white threads.
