Good condition. Ticking fabric in very good condition. Perfect color. Very light and few scuffs. No eyelets, the wool inside was attached with ribbons that still appear on the inside. On the outside you can see the light seams of these ribbons. Some pale marks. The upper left edge slightly irregular.
- Attractive and old beige ticking fabric with red and cream stripes along with thinner multicolored ones. It is a European twill fabric called cutí (or in French “coutil”) from the early 1900s. This piece, recovered and freshly washed, was part of a mattress cover. It is a medium weight cotton fabric. The herringbone weave reinforces visual linearity.
ROSARIO SAYS: “This fabric still has a lot of “living to do.” I love the contrast between the red striped areas and the delicacy of the other cream colored area and thin stripes.”
