Condition: Good
Good condition. Only light wear consistent with age and history but has no structural issues. Original color. Some pale marks towards the bottom edge. Minimal scuffing throughout the piece. Authentic hand sewn eyelets. One intact selvage. Very large piece that can be very well used. Not at all perfect but with the imperfections often present in these beautiful antique textiles. With a seam towards the middle of the piece.
- Wonderful vintage ticking fabric in cream, white, green and red stripes. It is a strong European fabric made around 1950 of herringbone weave. In the past these resistant fabrics for mattress covers were called “cutís” (from the French “coutil”)
It is made of medium weight cotton. Dense textile perfect for upholstery and interior design projects. The twill has been used not only as a type of fabric but to reinforce the visual texture.
ROSARIO SAYS: “A perfect combination of colors and widths of the stripes !!! It is elegant as well as fresh and colorful. "
